Press Conference Salone del Mobile Milano 2024
The press conference for the presentation of the 62nd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano was held on Tuesday 13 February at the Piccolo Teatro Strehler. Moderated by Mario Calabresi and Silvia Boccardi, and opened by the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala, it revealed the main innovations of the event recounted by Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and the protagonists of this coming edition.
The News
This year, the events will bring together more than 1,900 exhibitors, including 600 young talents under 35 and 22 design schools. The protagonists of the edition will be the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, S.Project, EuroCucina with FTK, the International Bathroom Exhibition and the SaloneSatellite. This last will be celebrating its 25th edition with 600 talents and 22 design schools.
Other novelties will include the relaunching of the optimization of the layouts and routes of EuroCucina with FTK – Technology For the Kitchen and of the International Bathroom Exhibition with the contribution of the neurosciences, in keeping with the human-at-the-center philosophy.
The new communication campaign has been designed and created by Publicis Groupe with the scientific collaboration of Paolo Ciuccarelli, professor of design and founder of the DensityDesign Lab at the Politecnico di Milano and the Center for Design at Northeastern University in Boston. Three large installations are at the center of this edition, “lnteriors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room” by David Lynch; “Under the Surface”, designed and produced by Accurat, Design Group Italia and Emiliano Ponzi for the International Bathroom Exhibition. EuroCucina, for its part, will host a large fluid and welcoming stage with six international independent food magazines in the project “All You Have Ever Wanted to Know About Food Design in Six Performances”. Then will follow a full program of Talks and Round Tables, entitled “Drafting Futures. Conversations about Next Perspectives”, curated by Annalisa Rosso.
