REFIGURED: When the Surface Becomes Atmosphere – TABU

Submit your project

A new collection redefining the expressive language of wood. Atmosphere begins at the surface. This is the starting point of REFIGURED, a collection that explores the expressive potential of wood through a grain that appears constantly in motion.

At the core of the project is the concept of moving grain: a pattern that captures the rare, rhythmic ripples of natural wood and transforms them into a shimmering, almost holographic surface. Light glides across the material, passing through it and reshaping its perception, creating reflections and depth that shift continuously with every change in viewpoint and illumination.

REFIGURED moves beyond the traditional idea of veneer to become a true design platform. More than a surface covering, it acts as an architectural canvas capable of shaping the atmosphere of a space. Its living, tactile texture provides a refined base for immersive interiors, where material and light interact dynamically.

Within the visual narrative of the collection, the wooden texture often meets deep and theatrical hues such as intense red. The contrast between the natural vibration of the wood and the power of colour creates a visual tension that enhances the emotional dimension of the interior.

As the official launch approaches at Milan Design Week 2026, REFIGURED emerges as a material exploration that redefines the relationship between light, surface and perception, opening new possibilities for contemporary interior architecture.
